groves and vineyards. Yet amid its abundant natural attractions lie captivating
landscapes of another kind – the tempting fairways and immaculate
greens of many an exceptional golf course.
The pride of provence
During a stay at L’auberge, we highly recommend that golfing guests
of all standards make use of the excellent opportunities nearby. Within
a 30 to 50 minute drive of the Château, a generous selection of
some of the region’s finest 18-hole courses have been carved into
the countryside – welcoming enthusiasts to indulge in international
standards of golf. Capitalising on the natural features of the terrain,
each course is designed to challenge, maintained to perfection and guaranteed
to offer you an unforgettable round of golf.
Take your pick from Barbaroux, St Endréol, Roquebrune, Sainte Maxime,
Beauvallon, Esterel Latitudes, Valescure and Royal Mougins. Between them
they offer an exceptional variety of landscape scenarios. You may well
find yourself driving a ball over a vineyard to reach a fairway, attempting
to avoid three large lakes on the same hole or chipping onto a scenic
waterside green. If you can’t decide which one to play, sample several
courses during your stay and take full advantage of the striking scenery
and year-round temperate climate that make Provence such a haven for golfers.
Planned to perfection
Given sufficient notice, we will happily arrange the whole day for you
– from reserving a convenient tee-off time to organising golf club
hire and delivering you to the course of your choice in one of the estate’s
chauffeur-driven, air-conditioned Renault Grand Espace cars.
We’ll leave you to wind your way through woodlands, pit your skills
against hazardous water features, soak up the scenery and socialise at
the clubhouse. When you’re ready to return we’ll drive you back
to L’auberge where a bottle of wine and a well-earned gourmet meal
awaits – a perfect day of exhilaration and relaxation.
