cuisine, but at Château de Berne we go one step further. As a guest
at L’auberge you are invited to live the lifestyle and take it home
with you. Our inspired cookery courses share the secrets and skills of
gourmet cooking and promise to take you beyond the kitchen and into the
very heart of Provençal life.
Tailored to every taste
Enhance your flair for seafood cuisine… perfect your skills with
spices… savour the secrets of traditional regional dishes… discover
mouth-watering game recipes… or become an expert in flavouring food
with the finest olive oils and wines…
You can join the Cookery School for a half-day course or refine your
skills over several days. Our tempting courses cater for all standards
and each
group is kept small and friendly to ensure you get all the help you need
from professional chef and Cookery School manager Philippe Migot.
Setting the scene
Located in a restored country house near L’auberge, the Cookery School
provides all the equipment and facilities you’ll need along with
a generous dose of charm. Simply step out of the kitchen door to the shaded
terrace and gaze over herb gardens, vineyards and olive groves –
the perfect inspiration, and ingredients, for your culinary creations.
A recipe for success
Far from sweating over a hot stove, our courses are a perfect balance
of expert instruction, hands-on experience and inspired excursions. Stephane
Demurtas
can show you how to select the finest ingredients from local markets
and escort you to restaurants where you can sample regional dishes. You
can
also visit olive oil mills and, of course, tour Château de Berne’s
vineyards and cellars to gain a greater appreciation of regional wines
and their culinary uses. Added to all this is a generous helping of relaxation
in true French style. At the end of each session you will sit down with
friends to enjoy the gourmet dishes you’ve prepared along with a
welcome glass of wine.
